I have my EAD. Once I pass the 180 day limit for AC21 portability, can I move to a different state and a different job ? (provided salary and job specifications match )

I have received 485 receipts and PD is field is empty. My I-140 which was already approved has the priority date specified in it.

Does anybody has information on the current lag between check cashing and getting receipt in the mail?
My check for 485 was cashed on August 20 (process by my bank) and the online case status says receipt was mailed out. But my lawyer has not received it as of today.

Hello Gurus,
I am planning to apply for EAD and AP. Debating myself if I have to go with e-filing or paper based. Some one told me, paper based DOES NOTrequired biometrics where as E-filing DOES need biometrics? Could you please shed some light on this?

Thanks jsb..In that case, I am changing jobs even without working for my GC sponsorer. I heard that it could potentially lead to fraud case.are you sure we can do this or do u know somebody who has done this.

GC sponsorship is always for a future job. Until your GC approval, if you are working for the sponsoring employer, you are there as a guest worker (on H1B, L1 etc.). It will be fraud if it is established that sponsoring employer did not really intend to employ you, and you did not really intend to work for them as a permanent employee, upon getting your GC.

Hi All,
I sent h1b extension application to california center on june 22nd and my application is still not approved. My current visa was valid until July 30th. I need to travel to India on Dec 10th due to urgent reasons . Please suggest what should I do
1. Can I travel while my extension is pending?
2. Can I raise a service request to speed up the processing?
2. or Upgrading to PP is the only option?
I do have EAD and advance parole through my husband's GC application. If I use parole for travel what happens to my H1b visa and GC application filed through my employer. My visa will still be valid or not?
Please help...

You have to get from your attorney or employer only. There is no other way you can get this. For joining for a new employer, the new job my be same or similar if you are using EAD / AC21 to continue GC processing.

Hi All,
I have recently applied for my wife's EAD to Phoneix Lock box and got the Receipt from NSC with the LIN number. RD: 02/25/11 and ND:02/28/11. Check also got cashed. I tried to access that receipt number in USCIS case status website online to get the status yesterday 03/09/11; it says the case number is not found. I am sure I typed the correct receipt number. Any idea what could be wrong? Has anyone experienced this before? Should I contact the customer service? Please help me.

US labor laws are good that no organization can stop an employee from joining any organization/company. Even if your company made you to sign a agreement, that doesn't hold in front of the law. This law could vary little from state to state, but not to great extent.
If you are receiving calls and emails from your employer, I would suggest, change the phone number, apartment/house, etc. and ignore him. But you should know that at 140 stage you need experience letter from employer. Make sure you can get it from your colleagues. Or you must cut a deal with your ex-employer now.

Did company B file the ammended 140 with immigration,if yes what happened to it.You could upgrade ths to premium processing and get an answer in 15 days.If approved I feel you would be safe.
