I mailed my EAD application around 2nd week of Dec'09 to Nebraska. I too was waiting for my check to be encashed. However, last week I got the check( with the correct amount of $340.00) returned. Couple of days later I got my EAD application receipt with the application fee shown as $0.00. My attorney was fine with it.
You should be getting your application receipt soon. If not, get in touch with the customer service.

I'm not a Guru in Immigration Matters...still from my experience USCIS is pretty random in some cases with online statuses.

As long as your resume and experience letters match you with the Labor, you are good. eb3 is less riskier than eb2.
For peace of mind, you can get a second opinion from another attorney by having him match your profile with the substituted Labor.

Online u can change the address for each receipt number of ead ,485 and ap using ar-11 form online link. or u can also call custom rep also to make sure it is reflected.FP notice they will send a copy to ur lawyer .So ask him to let you know once he gets it. sending ar-11 form itself does not change the address against the recipt numbers.

Hello experts,
Here is a situation of my friend .
1.He lost his and his wife's passport alongwith the receipt notices and FP notice.The current visa which has expired and I-94 is also lost.
2.The lost passport includes the old passport with old visa in it.
Can you please throw some light as to what are his options.

I added my older H1b case too of Dec 01 (i hadn't added such old case to my portfolio..didn't see need) and that had a LUD of 10/13/07 maybe due to my submitted cases of 140/ead/ap/485. Those had a LUD on 10/16/07 with notice date of 10/12.

I was married in India as per Muslim law and currently both of us hold US citizenship. At the time of marriage we both were indian citizens. What kind of rights do my wife has on my property in India on our divorce (I bought these properties after my marriage and it is all registered under my name) ? In US, both husband and wife would share any property that we aquired after the marriage. Does the same true in India?

Well , the law states that the property accumulated after marriage has to be divided. Did you buy that property in India with money you accumulated in the US? Did you transfer that money from US to India? Was that money accumulated after marriage? If yes, then it will be divided as well. Of course it's best to check with lawyer first.

As far as I know, there is no grace period. USCIS may choose to ignore a reasonable gap or may approve without I-94. Dont worry about that for now. Talk to friends/family and others and just find someone to sponsor. But if you are not able to find someone to sponsor even after few weeks, you will have to leave US. Sorry mate and Best of Luck.. just be quick and you will fine

I have nov 2004 PD. I have the same problem. USCIS received my app on aug 3rd. But notice date is oct 11. From , i see that these dates doesnt matter as long as your PD is current. So, i didnt bother to contact USCIS.

Beginning later this month, we'll start issuing these documents with a two-year validity period for aliens who are waiting adjustment of status if their application is expected to be pending for more than a year.
This, again, is eliminating a persistent source of frustration for workers who are here, who have a pending adjustment application but have to go and renew their employment documents every single year. It's going to cut the paperwork there. ....

USCIS has recently published a new fact sheet of common questions and answers for members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families. The fact sheet is worth reading if you are in the Armed Forces because the answers to some of the questions are different (and usually more advantageous) to members and/or dependents of those in the Armed Forces. For instance, if you are a civilian, obtained your green card through a marriage to a U.S. Citizen and you have been married for less than two years, you must file Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence (http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=f858d59cb7a5d010VgnVCM10000048f3d6a1RCR D&vgnextchannel=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1 RCRD) to remove the conditional residence and obtain your permanent green card.
